Cystic Fibrosis (CF) is a rare genetic disease that affects multiple systems within the body. Most commonly, it affects the respiratory and digestive systems, clogging up critical airways and passageways with thick mucus. Most people die from complications with CF before their fifties.
My sister, Katrina, wrote these lyrics herself in an effort to bring awareness to this fatal disease which takes people's lives from them at far too young an age.
We must find a cure for CF so patients, like myself, have a life they can grow old into. We need to make CF stand for Cure Found.
Lace Bite is a video documentary by Beyond Your Eye Productions, on the courageous efforts of 40 women playing hockey for over 10 straight days to raise awareness and fundraise for a cure to Cystic Fibrosis. It is currently being screened at various film festivals, and you can learn more about Lace Bite at www.facebook.com/lacebite
Note - all the home videos of the young boy & girl are myself and my sister, Katrina, when we were kids.
