Already feels fleeting & the sun's just come up.
Trying to relive it all when I'm in the thick of it.
Whoring out my quiet moments & you can get a good idea
of the times when we're all lonely & the times we aren't even here.
Goring on my independence. Starving artists for their truths
so the reader's understanding grows & teaches it to you.
Wondering if you reflect back to me the things I shine on you
& if you don't, it's still all fantasy. It's still all very true.
Them & me can get along now that we're apart all the time.
It's the way it is with me & most, know best not to make them mine.
Sheets I'm crawling all around in. Wanting something more to come.
Something dark & unfamiliar. Something bring me to the sun.
The road has got it's problems, fixing them is hard to do
Working on it
Working on it
Working all the time for you
Problems, fixing them is hard to do
Working on it
Working on it
Working all the time for you
Oh, it's getting on in night time. Getting on & rolling off.
Still, I'm running deep inside now with the symptoms of a cough.
& your face is still beside me, though the new one's not the same
I can love it so much better, 'cause I still don't know it's name.
I can write you in my mind now. I can write you in my sleep.
I'll say things I should have when I had your ears to see.
You can hear them far away, you're thinking "Why is he that way?"
& though we know we'd never argue, it just wasn't me to stay.
Telling off now, strays & remnants of a thought run wild with greed.
Holding power in a mind so barren, overrun with weeds.
In the gardens, dying gardens: they're too old to keep them up.
I'm still smelling dying roses, they're still seeing buttercups.
The road has got it's problems, fixing them is hard to do
Working on it
Working on it
Working all the time for you
Problems, fixing them is hard to do
Working on it
Working on it
Working all the time for you
& the girl who read the words & sends me messages of kin.
In my mind I know we aren't the same, wonder if she's out or in.
& I'm so glad she understands it,
or thinks she thinks she gets a part that means one thing to another
& a different thing to start.
& by the time we all get finished with whatever we've begun
we lose the thing we started somewhere, so we go off on a run.
Though my legs are feeling tired & I'm really twenty three,
feels much different on the road. I'm working on feeling like me.
Castle waiting in the sand. Waiting for it's fate to come.
Wondering if it goes by tide, or gets trampled in the run.
& I'm waiting too, for mine.
Feeling restless and blasé.
Want to get out & be going but it's a hard climb today.

The road has got it's problems, fixing them is hard to do
Working on it
Working on it
Working all the time for you
We've got our problems, fixing them is hard to do
Working on it
Working on it
Working all the time for you
We've got our problems, fixing them is hard to do
Working on it
Working on it
Working all the time for you
Problems. Fixing them is hard to do.
Working on it
Working on it
Working all the time for you
Working on it
Working on it
Working all the time for you
Working on it
Working on it
Working all the time for you
