http://www.homesforourtroops.org/woods - SSG Woods next recollection is waking up at Walter Reed, his family by his side; not yet knowing he had first been taken to a hospital in Iraq before being flown to Germany where he was stabilized at Landstuhl and then airlifted stateside. The attack left Bunky paralyzed from the shoulders down.

SSG Woods enjoys watching sports, reading, attending church, and spending time with his family. He presently is enrolled in three college classes and looks forward to graduating, getting married, raising a family and living a more normal life.

When asked what he would like to say to his supporters he replies, "It is people like you who make America great!", and then quotes Adlai Stevenson, "Patriotism is not short, frenzied outbursts of emotion, but the tranquil and steady dedication of a lifetime."

Bunky looks forward to living in a specially adapted home where he can do everyday things that not too long ago seemed impossible, like opening doors and turning on lights by himself. He is pleased to be moving closer to regaining his independence. Please consider helping Homes for Our Troops provide SSG Arthur (Bunky) Woods with a home that will accommodate his needs and enable him to concentrate on recovery and his future.
