Philips I would like to share my frustration with you. This is an issue I reported in October 2011. Now May 2012 nothing was done about it. I posted several video's on this problem but no one cared to take this issue serious even other users reported the same issue in the Philips support forum.

As you can see, I can 100% reproduce the issue by pressing the HTS-radio Easylink activity in the tv menu. The HTS8562/12 starts and the Philips Cinema Gold TV (50PFL7956H/12) reboots. The ambilight (AL) of the TV goes completely off and it takes about 1 minute until the TV is operational again. As you can also see at the end of the video the reboots are logged in the even counter. Both software and hardware events are added to this log after each reboot / reset.

The frustrating thing is that the TV also reboots when you want to play a Bluray disc and you change the TV to the HDMI1 connection where the HTS is connected.

I also tested the TV with the HTS9140, this HTS produces the same reboots on the TV so the problem is really on the TV side.

The issue is 100% related to the Easylink functionality, If I turn it off the reboots are gone.

The bad thing is that I bought both devices because Philips assured me that they would be 100% compatible and after all it seems they don't. I purchased those products mainly because of the ability to hear the TV audio through the HTS speakers. This is a real deal breaker for me.

It's really a shame because these are high end flagship models that are both produced by Philips but are incompatible with each other. In the Philips support forum you'll find more reports of users complaining about this issue!

E-care Duiven, your hardware service representative in the Netherlands changed the SSB board of my TV 2 times, but this did not solve anything. Last time they changed the SSB board of my tv I also lost the Philips boot logo functionality on my tv, now the TV screen stays black during the whole startup process :(

I'm very, very disappointed about you Philips, I spent many, many hours documenting the problem and providing the technicians the opportunity to use my tv for their tests and I'm still at the same point I was 7 month ago. No one from the TV software division seems to care or be willing to do anything about it.

So, Philips, I beg you once again to solve this issue so I can start using the TV as advertised with full Easylink functionality, not this crippled Easylink!!!

UPDATE: 1 year after reporting this problem to Philips, the problem was solved, more information on the solution can be found here:
