Taki and I documented our trip through the Etowah River Mine Tunnel which is 7ft. diameter x 1/4 mile long on May 9, 2010. Water was flowing about 350 cfs @ 3+ ft.. At the tunnel, the river splits and goes through the tunnel or continues around the mountain following its natural course.I included our first attempt - we had pulled over so I could get a good angle for filming and the current going around the mountain took us straight into a log. After that we moved into a different position for entry.

If you are planning to do this run, just be sure to look for the "light at the end of the tunnel" to ensure it isn't blocked. Hoping to get footage this year using the kayak - went through last summer and it was a very different experience than in a canoe.
