An ego trip that solved nothing, sadly little of the food or money ever reached Ethiopia due to mismanagement or theft. Those in the video were chosen like in a high school popularity contest, only the "cool people" were considered while artists like John Denver who had quietly worked in Africa for years helping the people were ignored. One story I found amusing was that Stevie Wonder pompously demanded that some of the song be sung in Swahili until he was informed that Ethiopians don't speak that language.

Esse sem dúvida é a melhor música de todos os tempos!! Me lembro, eu era criança na escola quando acabava o hino Nacional sempre tocava "Usa for Africa" e todos continuavam em formação cantando essa bala canção mesmo ñ sabendo inglês!

Great voices. The best of all. ..
Legendary Saiyajin
The difference between this version and the 'new' one is that in this everyone has a unique style of singing, and they're not afraid to show it.  Whereas in the new version everyone's singing the same accepted 'American Idol' style and some people are even autotuning (awful). Nothing will compare to these legends gathering for one night and accomplishing something to last through the ages.

Increible.Grande Michael Jackson
How the f#€k does music and the artists involved go from that to today? Really Bieber, Cyrus and the crap today WTF???...why have the standards drop? I feel pity for the generation today to never witness true artists which many are in this video, this video brought a smile an tear to my face.
