A good interplay of colors is what works best for a nursery. You can experiment with a wide variety of colors to create a warm, affectionate space for your little one to grow. In this video, Color and Design Expert Sharon Grech shares some tips on nursery painting.
Sharon encourages us to choose from a variety of gender neutral nursery colors for the baby's nursery instead of sticking to two traditional hues -- pink and blue. Start by choosing the bedding for your little one's nursery. Pottery Barn Kids' collection of bedding in fresh gender neutral nursery colors like greens, aqua blues, beiges and grays are wonderful for your baby's bedroom. If you're choosing yellows, select softer yellows for the paint and brighter shades for the bedding and other accessories.
It is best to decide on the bedding and nursery painting colors depending on the mood you want to create in the nursery. For a fresh, open feel in the room, play with the different cool shades and for a warmer feel; select warm shades from the color palette.
Pottery Barn Kids' color chart has some of the best seasonal colors from Benjamin Moore Paints that will make your nursery painting easier. Sharon believes that it is best to test the color of the paint before painting the entire wall so get pint-sized tester colors to check the color against your walls and under different lights.
Lastly, she says one can add a dash of color to the ceiling to make the gender neutral nursery appear more lively and fun!
