This is a comparison of the SE-120 Speaker Emulator Load Box by Surprise Sound Lab to a 2X12 cab and a Shure SM57 mic. The amp is a Flex15. The cab is a vertical 2X12 Mesa Boogie loaded with Celestion Vintage 30s, and the mic is placed near the edge of the speaker dust cover and about 1 1/2" from the grill. The Bright knob on the SE-120 is set to 5, and the Cab control is set to 2X12 closed back. Both signals are run through a Hardwire RV-7 stereo reverb pedal set on Room reverb. The guitar player is Jake Loggins.
