Jason Russak is a junior at Westlake High School and is an active participant in the Westlake Information Technology Academy (WIT). Jason has enthusiastically embraced WIT's innovative integrated curriculum targeted to students that are interested in pursuing IT and Multimedia careers. Through the Academy Jason earned a Microsoft Office Specialist Certificate. Jason is currently working on a plan to secure laptops for students enrolled in the WIT program and recently presented the plan to Academy parents and faculty in order to facilitate the purchase of the laptops. Jason has earned an Academic Athletic Award for participating in Westlake's Cross Country and Track teams. At an early age Jason demonstrated his creative entrepreneurial spirit as he founded Jason's Inflations, a service that inflated automobile tires insuring the proper air pressure. Jason's service demonstrated that by inflating tires to manufactures specifications, customers could substantially increase their gas mileage, thereby saving money and the environment. Jason's current venture, StudyGroupTV, leverages the benefits of social media with education by creating a videoconferencing platform that is designed to make it simple for students to participate in study groups and tutoring directly from their homes.

TEDxYouth@Conejo is organized by students for students. Thinkers and innovators both young in age and in spirit are invited to share their experiences, exchange ideas and inspire the next generation of student leaders. The theme of TEDxYouth@Conejo 2011 was "We Have a Voice."

What is TEDx?
In the spirit of ideas worth spreading, TEDx is a program of local, self-organized events that bring people together to share a TED-like experience.

At a TEDx event, TEDTalks video and live speakers combine to spark deep discussion and connection in a small group. These local, self-organized events are branded TEDx, where x=independently organized TED event.

The TED Conference provides general guidance for the TEDx program, but individual TEDx events are self-organized.*
