Attorney Michael Wright Talks About Officer Involved Shooting Video on National Radio Program

Dayton -- Just 24 hours after a portion of the video is released to the Crawford family, from inside a Walmart where the 22 year old son died, their attorney talks to national media.

Attorney Michael Wright was a guest on MSNBC and the National Tom Joyner morning show.

He explained how after seeing the video he believes the killing was unjustified. "John was on the phone having a conversation and then he was dead."

Wright who yesterday describe the shooting as one of the worst cases he'd ever seen went on to tell listeners that John Crawford was just walking around the store with the BB gun that he took off the store shelves and may not have even known police were in the store."

He said Crawford was holding the gun in a down position and was kind of using it as a crutch. He said he was just leaning on it at some point he raised it up and then he was shot and killed. He says at no point was Crawford facing the officers who shot him.

According to Wright there was no audio on the video and Crawford was not walking around the store pointing the gun like a caller to 9-11 had indicated. "The video you showed that he was in the same location for more than five or six minutes he had not moved from the store when he was shot by officers."

Atty. Gen. Mike Dewine says this investigation is long from over there are more than 260,000 video clips, and dozens of witnesses to interview and ultimately it will be up to a grand jury to decide if charges should be filed.
