Recumbent PDX is a bicycle shop specializing in recumbent bikes located in Portland Oregon, the shop used to be called Coventry Cycle Works (which was there for 30 years before changing owners). If you’ve had a stroke, ALS or balance issues a recumbent can be more stable and still empower you to get out and ride. For people who are aging and hight have weaker knees and shoulders this type of bike takes pressure off and won’t trigger back pain or arthritis as much. Recumbent PDX is a Catrike Concept store which means they carry the entire line of products in-store so you can see and try them vs. guessing online (they have lots of demo bikes upstairs and all of the customer bikes being sold are in the basement). In addition to stock recumbents, this shop also carries some custom lighted whips, pedal stroke adjusters, pedals with straps and leg braces and some other locally made items. If you’ve had surgery or have some bone-on-bone rubbing this could be a useful customization. The shop is honoring warranties from Coventry Cycles which is awesome! They also do wind fairings and fenders to protect against the cold and rain. If you have adaptive needs and want to ride a bicycle this could be a great shop to visit :)
