The inaugural year of the mandatory travel restriction along the Bow Valley Parkway has come to an end. Today, June 25th, 2014 marks the re-opening of the Bow Valley Parkway to its full 24-hour use. In 2013, in anticipation of the closure, we placed 2 video cameras within a particularly rich area of the parkway to be able to see just what goes on when animals have space. The results are heartwarming.
A special thank you goes to everybody who respected this closure; you've all had an 'active' hand in conservation and allowed all species in a narrow wilderness to continue to thrive. This is Canada's first national park - a land we've all committed to maintaining for present and future generations -- and we've just performed a little bit of that maintenance!
