Probably the world's first animated opera.

During her training to become a nurse, Bunny meets, by mere chance, the handsome fighter pilot Bear. Romance ensues and they form a couple. When Bear is about to propose, they are suddenly interrupted by an international conflict. Duty calls and Bear is sent into battle.

"Love and War" won best animated/experimental short film at Los Angeles Film Festival 2007, best short film at Nordisk Panorama 2007 and at the Golden Lion Film Festival 2007.

"We chose this film for its brilliant craftsmanship and epic scope. Writer -director -cinematographer -animator -librettist Fredrik Emilson proves himself to be the Orson Welles of stop-motion opera cinema with puppets."
Shorts Competition Jury - Los Angeles Film Festival

Great work! Good composition. I don't like the fact it's pro-communist though, look at the weapons the 'good' side are using in the jungle fight and the imagery in the hospital! A bit silly doing that.

The bittersweet ending made it. Truly good short film.
Interesting live puppet film. But wrongly identified as stopmotion. Has the combination of very smooth but very limited movements, like a department store Christmas window, except operated by hand rather than by motors. I think much of it is internal mechanisms or hands off-screen rather than strings or rods on the outside. It's carefully designed to work within those limitations. Closeup of walking feet is cropped close so you can't see the hands operating the legs.
It's definitely NOT pro marxist, it just shows Karl Marx portrait in the bunnies home and soviet rifles in the hands of the defending army.
I loved how the good guys used soviet Kalashnikov rifles and the bad guys the US M-16 weapons. (Hmm, but one of the bad guys used an RPG-7, which was a little bit confusing.)

es hermosoo!! me encantaría que esté con subtítulos en español =)
In an animation perspective, this is a excellent achievement. But in entertainment aspect... not so much.
This is wonderful. It has a sad ending.
