This video serves as a (quick, off the cuff) summary of preliminary findings into what is almost a year's research into a comparative study of graffiti between the cities of Brampton, Mississauga, Hamiliton as well as the Hawaiian island of Maui.

TO BE CLEAR: We are RESEARCHING graffiti and DO NOT REPORT LOCATIONS to Peel Police or anyone else! We will also state up front that SOME of the graffiti we've documented is TRUE ART. Anyone who would suggest otherwise either doesn't understand what art is --or they're dishonest.

Our definition of graffiti is "any UNAUTHORIZED writing or drawing on a surface".

No script was used and as such the report is rough. But we had to post our report ahead of tomorrow's Peel Police Services Board meeting. By doing this we dispel any question that our findings come as a result of what Peel Police will report on tomorrow.

NOTE: Because we missed documenting graffiti in Brampton and Mississauga in July and August, we filed Freedom of Information with Peel Police for their graffiti occurrence reports and photographs. We wish to thank Peel Police for waiving the FOI fees to assist us in our own research.
