The twists and turns in the John Edwards trial sound like the far-fetched plot of a TV show — too crazy to be true. Which got us thinking, hmmm, why not turn it into the sitcom that it was meant to be?

In today's episode, Edwards' pregnant mistress, Rielle Hunter, has just moved in with Edwards aide Andrew Young and his wife, Cheri. Andrew has agreed to pretend Rielle's baby is his, and Cheri reluctantly agrees to go along. She's not happy when the quirky mama-to-be shows up. But at least their money troubles are over, as the Democratic presidential candidate funnels checks for more than $1 million — made out to Cheri under her maiden name — into their bank account.

The scenes you see here are based on Cheri Young's actual court testimony.
