TORC programs the Breakaway Bot with the Ardunio and Team221 RobotOpen control shield. TORC has always tried to keep our old bots running, but cRIO's are expensive, and the Labview software we program in gets updated every year, requiring a rebuild to the new edition. The beauty of this shield, is it is designed to integrate into the existing FIRST hardware, which really makes trying to use the Audrino on a FIRST robot a no brainier. For about a $100 you can get an Arduino Ethernet & the RobotOpen shield and have a cRIO replacement, with a free programming IDE environment.
