Found on the tracks that run parallel to Rt 23 immediately north of Portsmouth, Oh. We've all seen "road kill" before. How about "railroad kill"? This deer didn't stand a chance. I have no idea where it's head is, and I wasn't about to grab a stick and find out.
The thing was swarming with flies, and the carcass was literally full of maggots. I must've seen 10,000 maggots in the exposed areas of the carcass. I'm guessing there must have been a couple million maggots in the carcass, wiggling around and sizzling in the 90 degree heat.
