A total of 103 people have been arrested as part of a day of action targeting criminals including burglars, thieves and drug dealers. Officers from divisions across Kent and Essex executed a series of warrants and planned operations on Wednesday, April 6, 2011 targeting individuals involved in burglary, vehicle and metal theft, the handling of stolen goods and drug supply at all levels from street dealers to suppliers. The day of action, named Operation Zinc, has been co-ordinated by the Kent and Essex Serious Crime Directorate, one of the largest divisions in UK policing dedicated to tackling serious and organised crime.
