On 7 August 2014 The College of Creative Arts Toi Rauwharangi, Massey University organised an electoral debate held in The Old Dominion Museum building titled 'What will you do for the arts?'. 

Invitations were extended to all major political parties and five participated with their Arts, Culture and heritage spokespeople; Paul Foster-Bell (National Party), Grant Robertson (Labour Party), Holly Walker (Green Party Aotearoa), Marama Fox (Maori Party) and Chris Yong (Internet/Mana). The debate was introduced by Massey University's Associate Professor Heather Galbraith and chaired by broadcaster Wallace Chapman.
