Elemeno Health Elemeno Health wins the Best Pitch MEDy Award. https://lnkd.in/be7r5aq
Elemeno Health engages frontline healthcare staff in generating, learning, and adhering to best practices. Smart incentives, gamified learning and on-demand tutorials — selected and created by your staff to meet the needs of your unit — work together to decrease hospital acquired conditions, increase patient satisfaction and get everyone on the same page.

Billed as “exactly the type of software you don’t often see in healthcare,” Elemeno Health was presented with the 2016 MEDy award for Outstanding Start-Up Pitch at the reknown Exponential Medicine Conference, which hosted over 500 world-class medical technology innovators, faculty, and organizations to highlight the best in the future of medical technology.

Prior to founding Elemeno Health, Dr. Roy-Burman led the development of a suite of staff engagement tools at UCSF. This proof-of-concept demonstrated significant clinical (and economic) benefits at UCSF Children's BMT, Heme-Onc, and Intensive Care units. The goal was to reduce central line infections. These represent a costly, dangerous problem at all hospitals, though one which can be successfully managed by rigorous adherence to best practices.

Nurses-- motivated by a fun, software-based contest with real-world recognition and prizes -- became more actively engaged with the training material. The result: central line infection rates were cut in half. We estimate this saved 3 lives, over 300 hospital days and a million dollars for the Children’s Hospital -- a tenfold ROI.

Dr. Roy-Burman subsequently left his clinical position at UCSF to found the startup Elemeno Health, backed by tech accelerator Y Combinator. With continued development and broad adoption, our cloud-based application will engage hospital teams in the consistent delivery of best practices, driving quality, safety, and efficiency across healthcare systems.
