Sulawesi is home to endearing tiny Tarsiers monkeys. We saw them at Tangkoko National Park near Mando on the Indonesian island of Sulawesi. These adorable monkeys look a lot like Yoda from the Star Wars movies. Tarsiers are nocturnal and live in trees. This tree is home to a family of six. Each night they leave their sleeping tree to eat.

Endangered black-crested macaques sit at the edge of their illegally burned habitat in Tangkoko National Park in Sulawesi, Indonesia. Over the last 10 years these monkeys have had their numbers reduced by 90%. Their habitat is burned and developed. In addition to pressures of deforestation these monkeys are consumed as food and sold on the black market as pets. Tangkoko National Park in Sulawesi is the only wildlife preserve where the macaques can live in relative safety.
