Joyce was diagnosed with idiopathic pulmonary fibrosis, IPF, in 2012. The condition affected her lungs and she was becoming breathless doing everyday tasks. It took 4 years to get a diagnosis. IPF is a build-up of scar tissue that makes lungs thick and hard, making breathing difficult. IPF is incurable and will progressively get worse. Joyce was referred for a lung transplant. This is a rare and risky option. After a year on the lung transplant waiting list, Joyce underwent a double lung transplant in January 2014. In this film, Joyce tells her story and talks about how IPF has affected her life and how the lung transplant has made a difference.
