Hi! My name is Dillon Jones. I am a Field Biologist who spent the better part of a year in Belize finding turtles and doing a bunch of research projects. How hard is it find a turtle? Lets find out!

The turtle in question was transmitter turtle named HO. It took me about 4 days to find her even though I knew exactly where she was. These turtles are the species Kinosternon luecostomum otherwise known as the White Lipped Mud Turtle. They are a really cool study species, but can be notroriously tricky to find.

Our project used radio telemetry to find the home range and movement patterns of these elusive turtles. In this way we can learn more about their movement patterns for conservation purposes!
