In this SAS How To Tutorial, Jeff Thompson shows how to compare models in SAS. When working to solve business problems, analysts and data scientist often build many models. These models are likely based on different algorithms such as trees and tree-based models, neural networks, and even traditional regression models. But how do they know which model is best? That is where model comparison comes in and Jeff will step through how to perform that in SAS using Model Studio.
Before stepping through a demo of model comparison in Model Studio, Jeff discusses the Analytics Life Cycle. He then runs through the different types of predictions you may be trying to make and which numeric statistics are appropriate for each prediction type. Finally, several different graphical tools are outlined that may be used to compare models.
