Here is a quick upload with no editing (clearly) to see how footage from my new GoPro Hero 2 looks after bringing it with me on vacation to the Caribbean a week ago. Shot at 1080p 30fps in Wide mode. Just meandering through the busy streets and shops of Charlotte Amalie on St. Thomas. Sound is not the best as I had the camera in its protective plastic housing with the vented back -- some sound does transfer but it's not ideal. I have tried the external mic option and you can get remarkably good sound that way, but you can't use the external housing when doing so....and there go your mounting options....I may end up drilling a small hole in a 2'nd housing to accomodate a mic cable. I realize the GoPro is used largely for action type stuff, extreme sports, etc. but I'm more interested in its candid videography applications.....documentary applications, etc. It's able to capture an amazing amount of detail and the resolution is actually quite good. As I said this is a rambling continuous shot and with no editing, so forgive me that. I should mention I lived in Charlotte Amalie for two years so a lot of this has more meaning for me than the casual viewer. I am very pleased with the camera's performance, indeed. By the way....the police "scene" apparently involved a tourist who'd just been purse-snatched...a bummer in an otherwise beautiful place.
