Congresswoman Jackie Speier (CA-14) on Wednesday spoke on the House floor about a DoD investigation into scores of enlisted Marines compiling thousands of naked photos of Marines and distributing them on Facebook and Google Drive through a site called Marines United. Rep. Speier in 2013 blew the whistle on a similar scandal, when similar images were posted publicly on Facebook, and condemned USCM Leadership for failing to address the culture of rot that has continued to thrive. On Wednesday, she called for all those who participated in Marines United to be drummed out of the Corps and for Defense Secretary Mattis, a former Marine General, to ensure the survivors receive the support they need and deserve as well as the brave whistleblower.
