NASA recently released a video of its version of a driverless car, specifically showing off the vehicle's unique features.

NASA recently released a video of their version of a driverless car currently in development at Johnson Space Center in Houston.

The space agency's Modular Robotic Vehicle, or MRV, has some similarities to their autonomous rovers currently used in space.

The car is about the size of a golf cart and is designed to be operated by a person, by remote control or completely on its own.

Its wheels can also move independently of one another, allowing the vehicle to travel sideways.

The car is battery-powered and is capable of reaching a maximum speed of 40 miles per hour.

It was announced in January 2015 that NASA was partnering with automobile producer Nissan for a five-year partnership focused on driverless cars.

Together they hope to test drive an autonomous, zero-emission vehicle this year.
