Welcome to the Evolution Show!
In this episode I continue my conversation with two very dedicated people from the medical profession on how we can make the health sector fossil free! I´m joined again by the medical doctor and researcher Staffan Mårild, pediatrician and researcher at Gothenteburg Pediatric Growth Research Center and medical student Ellinor Berg and both share their experience and ideas and I contribute with some of my own!
In particular we talk about how we can decrease the oil use and carbon footprint in the health sector, here in Sweden but also in other countries such as United States and India.
Both are active members of the Swedish organization "Doctors for the environment" or Läkare för Miljön in Sweden, an organization founded in 1991 working to spread awareness about environmental and health related issues, and more importantly how they are interlinked!
The focus is a comprehensive report by the Lancet Commission that was published in the Scientific Journal The Lancet in January and an article Staffan Mårild and Ellinor Berg wrote in Sweden´s biggest newspaper Dagens Nyheter in May, covering the main points in the report and drawing out ideas to move forward.
