On Wednesday, August 22, 2012 the Grand Opening of the Southeast Campus of Nashville State Community College was held. The ceremony included the Campus Dedication, Ribbon Cutting, and Open House. The new campus is located at 5248 Hickory Hollow Parkway in southeast Davidson county.

Ceremony platform guests included Bob Thomas, member and former vice-chair of the Tennessee Board of Regents, George Van Allen, President of Nashville State, LaDonna Yarborough, Director of the Southeast campus, Ben Freeland, Owner/General Manager of Freeland Chevrolet Superstore, Silas Deane, the former chair of The Nashville State Foundation, and one of our Southeast students, Elton Potter, who represented the thousands of students who will be educated at the Campus over the coming years.

Representing the Metro Nashville Davidson County were Mayor Karl Dean, Former Councilmember Sam Coleman, and his successor Councilmember Jacobia Dowell, and members of the Tennessee State Legislature, Senator Douglas Henry, Representative Janis Sontany, and Representative Sherry Jones.
