New Zealand met Korea in the Women's World Hockey League 7th/8th place playoff in Argentina on day 5 of the tournament, with New Zealand winning the match 3-1.

A Penalty Stroke gave New Zealand their first goal, converted by Kayla Charland, after a deliberate foul by Sunsoon Oh on Cass Reid in the 'D'.
New Zealand's second came from a counter attack, with Petrea Webster sliding in to deflect Olivia Merry's cross.
Gemma Flynn grabbed New Zealand's third, deflecting in a shot on the right post from a well worked penalty corner routine.
Some sustained pressure from Korea in the 2nd half, and despite pulling a goal back from a penalty corner to make it 3-1, it wasn't enough and New Zealand take 7th place, winning their first game of the tournament in the process.
