A small group of doctors with the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention has worked to identify and rid the world of some of the worst epidemics of the last half century. A new book, Inside the Outbreaks, The Elite Medical Detectives of the Epidemic Intelligence Service, examines the group's accomplishments, and what author Mark Pendergrast and the CDC consider major, new challenges to people living healthy lives. Producer Zulima Palacio has the story.
