I waited for the PS2, and was extremely disappointed.  The XBox1 and Dreamcast were FAR better.  Most of the exclusives the PS2 had are on PS3 or PC in HD. Long loading times, smeary graphics... I hated the PS2.  The Dreamcast could do 480p in most of the games with the VGA box.  A ton of XBox1 games were 480p, and some were even 720p or 1080i.  On top of that both of them had better 480i output than the PS2.  Only a handful of PS2 games were 480p, so everything else looks like you're viewing it through a toilet bowl... even with component cables. The PS2 wasn't even a good DVD player.  Interlacing issues all over the place.  About the only good thing I have to say about the PS2 is that it was better than the GameCube.  That's about it. Despite the initial high price, and poor launch titles, the PS3 ended up being a return to form for Sony.
