Brookfield Zoning Public Hearing on Proposed Ruling Against Large Retail 9-27-07

Jerry Murphy refused to have the town record or broadcast this important town meeting, of concern to most Brookfield citizens, who don't want a big box, heavy traffic and pollution at the cornfield site. Jerry Murphy and his friends on the Planning Commission [Hal Kurfehs is the realtor who may get the huge commission from Costco on this deal] want the big commercial developers and tax revenues, like the 4 story tall Nabby condos, the Tractor Barn now abandoned in a sandpit, and polluting Iroquois Gas Compressors next door to WMS! Why don't they listen or care what Brookfield citizens say? And Jerry Murphy refused to have the town tape or broadcast this important town meeting, of concern to most Brookfield citizens, on CH17, the public channel for our schools, town issues and information. But Murphy denied us access. This is the fourth public hearing session he refused to air in the past 2 months. Why doesn't Jerry want you to see these? Or is it to steer Costco through the town commissions without resistance?

He didn't attend any of these important town meetings either, nor did any of the selectmen. Why?

Jerry Murphy is always talking about how civil, open, transparent, and democratic his administration is !! Democracy at it's best?
