Competitive Karuta or Kyogi Karuta is much more than just a card game. It was a game of nobility centuries ago and has evolved into a competition that requires incredible memory and lightening reflexes. While actively taking part in tournaments in Japan and overseas, he is also working to popularize the game and help player development.
