I'm generally not into collecting TV's from the SPC era because they are too new and most of them are junk that does not last long. However, I made an exception with this Sony. It had been sitting at the flea market for a few weeks for $50. Then, they dropped it down to $40. It still didn't sell after 2 or 3 days and I decided to get it.

From what I've read, these Sony Wega's are the best CRT TV's that were made during the silver plastic crap era. Sure, they have their share of problems; but, they seem to be an overall better TV. These sets cost around $279 when new and that's probably why I don't see too many of the 20" and smaller WEGA's floating around. It seems that most people were willing to settle for the $89.99 19" Funai TV from wal-mart.

Some woman called wanting to buy a TV and I told her she could have this one for $75. She said she'd be right over; but, of course, never showed. That's fine because I really don't want to sell it. I know that in today's world, not many people would give $75 for a CRT set; but, there was a time I could have gotten at least $100 without too much effort for this same TV.

This set has one of the nicest pictures that I've seen on any color TV. It actually reminds me of the picture on a properly working Zenith Chromacolor II TV from the '70's.
