Nobreach.com has finally come up with a simple and easy-to-install solution for a problem that has eluded all deadbolt strike plate designs in the past. In the doorway, is a very strong structure using either two 2x4s or 2x6s studs on each side of the doorway topped with a double header. Other security strike plates try to reinforce the 1 inch thick door frame to strengthen the impact point of the deadbolt strike. Our design uses the strength of the two 2x4s to anchor our strike plate to the doorways actual structure. Using 16 gauge cold rolled steel, our strike plate can withstand more than 9,000 psi/square inch before it will tear at the impact point. It uses the two 2x4 studs to absorb the impact.
