After the scene, you receive a news article explaining more about the history of Sledgehammer as well as the pocket watch, which is May's sentimental item. After reading the article, return back to the concert hall. As you approach the door, Sledgehammer will appear and your first boss battle will be initiated. Sledgehammer has two attacks. The first is his standard hammer swing. The second is an attack that involves him smashing the ground, sending out a shockwave in a wide radius that hurts a lot if it connects. First off, DO NOT use the repellent arrow or any special arrows you obtain at this point. The reason will become clear very late in the game. Since Sledgehammer is so slow, it's not particularly hard to to transfix him early. You simply need to create some distance then begin charging. Right before it looks like he's gonna hit you, release the arrow. He should now be transfixed. If you have a hard time finding an opening to charge your arrow, wait until he taunts Alyssa. This should give you ample time to charge an arrow. You can also actually wait for him to approach and duck at the last minute to avoid his attack which throws him off balance. Release a few more fully charged arrows until he's binded enough times. When this happens, Alyssa will unleash a special attack the next time you try and charge an arrow. More than likely, Sledgehammer will die the moment you do this. You can do this the longer way if you wish and keep releasing semi charged arrows at him, but binding him will increase the damage you inflict. After you beat him, you receive the clover of love.
