The 2004 Girl Scout cookie boycott in Waco, Texas created uproar for several weeks and has ripple effects to this day. This June 1, 2004 news segment from the 700 Club provides an overview of the cookie boycott and its results. The boycott was launched by Pro-Life Waco because of a long-standing local entanglement between Girl Scouts and Planned Parenthood in Waco. The alliance was particularly strong for Nobody's Fool, a Planned Parenthood sex education conference for children. This news feature shows the nature of the entanglement, the outrage of Girl Scout parents, the spread of the story state and nationwide, the decision of local Girl Scouts to sever all ties with Planned Parenthood, and the continuing concern about a cozy relationship between Girl Scouts and Planned Parenthood.
