Ride, Snare, Kick
Each drumset exercise is a diagram in motion. If you were to draw a series of cartoon pictures of the "ride, snare, kick" exercise, you would see the right hand circling above the cymbal in a three-part movement. First, it would rebound from the ride simultaneously as you strike the snare. Second, it would reach the top of its cycle at the same time as you strike the bass drum. This exact timing would continue looping uninterrupted as you add the fourth limb (hi-hat).
