Shawn Witkowski plays Maurice Ravel - Oiseaux Tristes (Sad Birds), from 'Miroirs'.
Edinburgh, 26th February 2011. Performed on an 1880s grand piano.

Shawn Witkowski (born in 1989) studied piano and harmony at the University of Edinburgh under Peter Evans and John Kitchen.
He has previously studied under Pierre Faraggi and Frédérique Fontanarosa, both pupils of Alfred Cortot. He also received advices from Roy Howat and Nicholas Ashton.
He gave his first public recital in Saint-Cloud (France) in June 2005, aged 15.
In 2011, he won the 2nd prize in the Elizabeth Ritchie Competiton Class in the Edinburgh Competition Festival.
In 2012, he won the 1st prize in the Elizabeth Ritchie Competition Class.
In 2013, he won the 1st prize in the Chopin Class in the Edinburgh Competition Festival.
