The Carpathian Ensemble at the University of Pittsburgh performed this Hutsul medley (Ukraine, Carpathian Mountains) at our Spring Concert, March 26, 2010, Frick Fine Arts Auditorium. We learned this tune from our friends at the Kyiv Ukrainian Dance Ensemble in Carnegie, PA directed by Natalie Kapeluch Nixon when we played live for their folk ballet "The Bayan Player" (April 7, 2010). Members of the Carpathian Ensemble include:
Megan Conger - clarinet;
Elizabeth Cook - cello;

Jessica Feldbauer - accordion;
Daniel Gold - electric guitar;
Kenneth Haney - clarinet;
Jonathan Heins - tapan and dombek, trombone;
Katie Hoetzer - accordion;
Jungwon Kim - violin;
Nathan Oravetz - sopilka (wooden flute);
Ryan Pudlowski - balalaika, banjo
Jonathan Withers - bouzouki, ney
Evan Zajdel - tsymbaly (hammered dulcimer);
Guest performer - Dr. Robert Carl Metil, Ethnomusicologist - banjo;
Director - Dr. Adriana Helbig, Ethnomusicologist - keyboard
