Love's So Tough is a studio album by the Iron City Houserockers. Released in 1979, the Iron City Houserocker's first album attempts to capture the presence of what was essentially a Pittsburgh bar band playing to a blue collar crowd every night. While Joe Grushecky's songwriting skills are clearly still developing, his potential is visible in cuts such as "Dance with Me" and "Heros are Hard to Find". The general sound of the album is reminiscent of a slightly "harder" Bruce Springsteen, and the heavy use of harmonica would be a distinguishing factor of the Houserockers for several albums to come. The Chuck Berry song "School Days (Ring! Ring! Goes the Bell)" was recorded for the album but was cut from the final release. The track was then released on Pumping Iron & Sweating Steel: The Best of the Iron City Houserockers. The album was reissued in CD format in 1999.

Unlike most of the album which was recorded in Cleveland, Ohio, "Turn It Up" was recorded at Asterick Recording in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. Billy Cross featured on slide guitar.

Lyrics:
Sammy's been busted,
His hopes are quickly sinking.
Strung out or else you know it's,
Heavy into drinking.

Shows up every evening,
To hear the bands all play.
When the whiskey's passed around,
You can hear them say...

Turn it up!
Play it loud.
Don't it make you,
Want to shout?
Turn it up!!
Drop me down.
What makes this crazy,
World go round?

Play simple boys,
Just want to hear some blues.
Dynamite dollar,
And I'm, full up full of juice.
Play something that moves you,
Way down deep inside.
Won't you gimme some shelter.
Find me some place to hide.

Turn it up!
Baby loose.
But I ain't got nothing,
But the blues.
Turn it up!!
Play it tight.
Help me make it,
Through the night.

Turn it up on me baby,
Help me forget everything.
Give up all I had,
Just to hear you say...
Turn it up on me baby,
When I play out of tune,
But it doesn't really matter,
'Cause it's the best that I can do.

Found him in a doorway,
He's tangled up and twisted.
Gave him one last chance, but he,
He blew his hand he missed it.
Said it's so hard to be a loser,
You got no time to carry on,
When you stepped down,
In the bottom.
And your fingers,
Are gone.

Turn it up!
Play it loud.
Don't it make you,
Want to shout?
Turn it up!!
Drop me down.
What makes this crazy,
World go round?

Turn it up.
Turn it up.
Turn it up.
Turn it up.
