(COMPLETE, includes one full story) The "One Thousand Children" (OTC) were 1400 mainly Jewish children who fled Europe to escape Hitler and came to America alone, leaving their parents behind (often to be murdered). They are a little-known American Kindertransport. These OTC children are indeed true Holocaust Survivors of forced displacements, stress, and traumas. . . . . .We tell the story of the OTC, the kids, the rescuers, the rescue-programs. Most importantly, we tell of the tortuous physical paths and difficulties many of the OTC kids went through, to get to America and freedom. . . . We introduce the story of Thea Lindauer, an OTC. Thea then tells her own story from her book "There Must be An Ocean Between Us." . . . . . . Claude Kacser, the video-maker and one of the narrators, is also a Jewish OTC.
