This ten minute documentary investigates human trafficking in South Africa. It documents research, expert testimony and true stories, including that of a twelve-year-old girl sold from her community, a school teacher whose students have disappeared and a woman tricked into forced marriage. It also deals with the current issues facing South Africa that will have an impact on human trafficking - the modern-day slave trade. The stories you will see were collected by the Justice [ACTs] team as they went into communities most at risk for trafficking to do prevention work using the tool Traffick Proof. To learn about the Traffick Proof Campaign and other tools we have developed go to www.justiceacts.org.
This documentary was made in partnership with Media Village. We are grateful for the extra effort, time and passion they put into the production of this piece. www.mediavillage.info
