As a rookie firefighter in Brooklyn, NY Jordan Sullivan had yet to prove himself on a fire call. But when the call came, he didn’t just have to fight a fire– he had to find and rescue a trapped infant. For his dedication to protection, Jordan was awarded the 2014 Liberty Mutual Insurance National Firemark Award for Heroism.

Jordan’s truck and team were first on the scene, entering the building and clearing the way for the hoses that would eventually extinguish the fire. It was Jordan who found the infant and carried it out of the smoke and flames to safety, before re-entering the apartment to continue the search.

Liberty Mutual Insurance is proud to share his story, and thank him and all of Ladder 105 for their dedication to protection.
