1966 Quartet

Formed in 2010, 1966 Quartet is a Japanese piano quartet (two violins, cello, and piano) produced by Hiroyuki Takashima, the first producer of The Beatles in Japan and made a number of hits in Japanese music history. The group's name "1966" derived from the year of 1966 when The Beatles came the first time to Japan. Since major debuted with their first album "Norwegian Wood~The Beatles Classics~" from Nippon Columbia, they have released three albums including "We Will Rock You~Queen Classics~" and "Thriller~Michael Jackson Classis~," and also performed throughout Japan. They cover songs but have established their style as one of a kind that distinguishes themselves from the other classical ensembles. The new album, art-directed by NIGO who is a world widely known designer, will be released in June, 2013.
