This is for Brother Sonny's (http://youtube.com/doogey9 ) "Folk Uke Extravaganza" contest. If you haven't subscribed to him - you are missing a true gem on youtube (anywhere really). Kind soul, and one hell of a great musician. The real deal awesome.

I intended this to be "Sam Hall", an old folk tune also from Britain in the 1700's , but one that evolved into more of an American tale... but I woke up with this one in my head, and it seemed perfect for the entry.

The origins are murky at best, and no one recalls who "Jock" really was, but most account for this song starting in Ireland around 1700 something, and eventually migrating to become a favorite Scottish drinking song.
