Two hundred members of The College of Idaho community participated in a Passover Seder organized by history professor Howard Berger and students in his Jewish history course on April 21, 2011. Rabbi Daniel Fink of Boise's Congregation Ahavath Beth Israel led the ritual feast retelling the story of the Israelites liberation from slavery in ancient Egypt. The College of Idaho is currently working to endow the first chair in Judaic studies in the Intermountain West, which will raise awareness of Jewish history and culture among C of I students and throughout the region.
