England have one foot in the Euro 2012 quarter finals after a thrilling win over Sweden in Group D on Friday.

Danny Welbeck scraped home the winner in a topsy-turvey game in Kiev after England had surrendered a 1-0 advantage after half time.

Andy Carroll gave Roy Hodgson's side the lead with a thumping header, latching on to Liverpool team mate Steven Gerrard's perfect cross.

Former Aston Villa defender Olof Mellberg then turned the game on its head with two goals shortly after the break, before Theo Walcott levelled from 20 yards and Welbeck spun on the proverbial sixpence to knock Erik Hamren's Swedes out.
