On my travels throughout Europe last year, my drummer Andrea Paradiso and I took some time out from our tour to hike through the Alps near his family estate, Craveggia, in Valle Vigezzo, Italy. His sister Alessandra, a fine sculptor and collector of relics from the past, told me of a 17th century abandoned village nearby called Montecrestese where she would collect subjects for her sculptures. So one misty morning, Andrea and I headed up the mountain I, dressed in a deep red medieval gown lent to us by the kind Alberto Redaelli at Lo Bosco costumes and Andrea traipsing behind me, camera in hand.
The village was built entirely of stone and was overgrown with lush foliage and fruit trees growing out of what were once homes. I felt overripe apples squish beneath my feet as I walked through the narrow backstreets of the village. It made me think of all the history the beaten-down walls, glassless windows and apple-covered earth held. The romance, the betrayal, the joy and sorrow that this lifeless place once witnessed. It was with this sentiment in mind that Andrea and I filmed this simple video to my song called "Think it over".
